911 Emergency Communications Manager
The Danville Fire Department is seeking an experienced candidate to manage the City's 911 Communications Center; This position provides direct supervision to Shift Supervisors and trains Telecommunications personnel; Maintains standard operating procedures and guidelines and monitors current trends and equipment needs; Develops and recommends budget requests; Prepares work schedules and coordinates and maintains dispatch protocol; Candidate must possess a comprehensive knowledge of emergency service operations, equipment and telecommunications; Thorough knowledge of Federal and State emergency regulations as related to the operation; Must be able to train and motivate personnel; Possess excellent communication skills in both speaking and writing; Education and experience equivalent to an Associate degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in an emergency communication center; Possession of or ability to obtain certification as a general instructor through DCJS and NCIC/VCIN telecommunication certification , CPR, dispatch protocols (EMD, EFD, EPD).
