Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Creative Service in day-to-day operations, including but not limited to:
- Development and implementation of the University's brand strategy goals.
- Ensuring all designs are innovative and high-quality, while adhering to overall university brand standards and best practices.
- Identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and university brand development objectives.
- Performing ongoing analysis of university best practices, market research, competitive analyses, and higher education trends.
- Preparing marketing and communications activity reports, inclusive of metrics used to measure program success.
- Executing high-quality graphic work for all areas of campus including academics, admissions, institutional advancement, and others as assigned.
- This work may include logos, flyers, social media graphics, advertisements, signage and other related collateral.
- Reviewing and investigating opportunities to improve internal and external marketing activities to ensure target audiences are effectively reached.
- Supporting the maintenance and development of marketing communication tools including the Coppin website, 3rd party email applications and other programs.
- Planning and managing meetings and special events by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements, establishing contacts, developing schedules and assignments, and coordinating mailing lists.
- Act as Social Media Manager with duties including but not limited to:
- Creating and managing social media content for official University accounts.
- Monitoring official University social accounts and responding to users on behalf of the University as assigned.
- Developing graphics as needed (e.g. social media platform posts, ads, etc.)
- Be an excellent verbal and written communicator who can draft and edit communications for social media and other university needs.
- Be able to work collaboratively with all members of the Creative Service team as well as all other campus offices.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree, or higher, in marketing, advertising, or communications
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design or related fields (*higher education marketing position a plus).
- Excellent writing, editing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.
- Proficiency in the full Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with research using data analytics software.
- Proficiency with social media platforms and best practices.
- Proficiency with social media management platforms, specifically Hootsuite.
- Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
- Working knowledge of HTML, design, and email software, specifically Emma and Constant Contact.
- Experience working with marketing budgets and forecasting.
Conditions of Employment
- Must be able to relocate to the Baltimore area, upon hire.
- Must have a valid driver's license
