The Quad Cities Times is looking for an experienced Machine Operator. If you are mechanically inclined and have experience in a production or manufacturing environment this may be the perfect position for you!
This position is directly responsible for learning all aspects of the assigned job field, including set up, operation and basic maintenance of all production packing equipment including insert machines, stackers, strappers, and other equipment plus counting and checking of newspapers and advertising pre-prints for accuracy. In addition, the Operator directs workflow and maintains a safe working environment. Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs in order to meet established deadlines.
The ideal candidate will possess a High School diploma or equivalent with one to two years of working in a packaging, production and/or manufacturing operation. Experience running newspaper production machinery is preferred but not mandatory and experience using forklifts and pallet-jacks is preferred. Candidates must be able to work night Shift, 6pm -2am, weekends included. Start/finish times may vary. This position requires the candidate to be 18 years or older.
Starting pay is $13.50/hour with room for growth!
