Plumber-Maintenance Technician
Morningside University is accepting applications for the position of Plumber–Maintenance Technician in the Physical Plant Department. This position is responsible for the maintenance and preventive maintenance on the campus as well as assisting in other maintenance projects as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Plumbing Maintenance
- Repair leaking faucets and drains
- Auger drain lines
- Clean, inspect, monitor boilers for chemicals and safety
- Maintain heating valves, traps and radiators
- Pack and grease pumps
- Assure that drinking fountains, bottle fillers and water features are maintained and in good working order
- Preventive Maintenance Participate in setting a schedule for needed preventive maintenance
- Complete preventive maintenance according to schedule
- Complete various plumbing duties and tasks as needed by the work order system
Qualifications:
- Good plumbing skills
- Knowledgeable about industry standards
- Able to follow simple oral and written instructions
- Able to get along with others and possess good communication skills
- Heavy work may be required at times
