Job Summary:
Oversees the effective, compliant, & efficient daily management of all operational functions related to the faculty lifecycle on behalf of the Office of the Provost, including recruitment & retention, promotion & tenure, leaves of absence, and retirement. Serves as subject matter expert in regard to content, processes, and procedures for complex and evolving ecosystem of faculty information tools at Northwestern. Assesses, and makes recommendations, to ensure alignment between process design/implementation and system support/maintenance/enhancement. Leads the execution of faculty processes and tracks data across multiple systems in coordination with central offices such as HR and IT, & school representatives, providing guidance and training to users when needed. Analyzes faculty recruitment and retention expenses and performance against approved budget allocations within central administration; prepares reports and updates for senior leaders, including the Provost and Board of Trustees. Provides guidance to faculty affairs administrators across Northwestern on relevant processes and policies; viewed as an expert resource regarding faculty operational and administrative affairs.

Administration
- Oversees & ensures that day-to-day operations are appropriately managed, efficient and effective.
- Operationalizes goals & objectives; ensures that resources are created or obtained.
- Manages customer service; creates associated practices & procedures & metrics to measure success.
- Analyzes data & recommends & implements changes & improvement to better ensure attainment of mission.
- Participates in developing IT strategy to meet the mission & needs of program/project.
- Ensures that the program/project meets associated revenue & expense goals.
- Plans & implements annual budget process.
- Communication, Outreach & Recruitment
- Identifies and implements short- and long-term strategies and plans to meet program/project goals.
- Oversees development & implementation of evaluation processes, quantitative & qualitative measurements that ensure that program/project benchmarks are successfully attained and communicated in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manages evaluation processes; recommends & implements changes for enhancement; monitors effectiveness through follow-up evaluation studies.
- Collaborates with internal/external resources to develop meaningful outcome measurements and methods of program/project evaluation that will lead to enhancement.
- Provides strategic recommendation for management of faculty appointments, credentialing & exit (retirement & termination) processes.
- Reviews policies, recommends changes, implements new & ensures consistent interpretation.
- Determines & implements organizational structures to align with strategic mission.
- Interprets HR policy to maximize effectiveness of HR administration to meet strategic plan objectives.
- Creates & leads a coordinated program of activities designed to increase program/project objectives.
- Develops & executes strategies to involve internal/external constituents and cultivate new individual, corporate, institutional &/or foundation collaborations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
- 4 years program/project administration or other relevant experience.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to conduct data analysis focused on academic planning and faculty processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to deal with various audiences including senior administrators, school dean's offices, and faculty. Discretion with confidential information and good judgment in making decisions.
- Superb attention to detail. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize as appropriate.
- Service-oriented attitude to assisting faculty and staff in resolution of problems.
- Master's Degree in Higher Education, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Systems-oriented mindset. Comfortable analyzing data and aligning processes, data, and systems.
- Experience with data management, tracking, and/or visualization systems such as Excel, SmartSheet, Tableau, Power BI.
- Understanding of database and data management structures, principles, and best practices.
