Job Summary
The Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center is currently seeking an Administrative Staff Officer to support a fast-paced, complex and growing Center comprised of clinicians, educators, and researchers. This position will contribute to a dynamic workplace in which individual differences are recognized, appreciated, respected and responded to in ways that fully develop and utilize each person's talents and strengths.
Primary duties include budget management and reconciliation, procurement and payments across all UK platforms, travel arrangements and reimbursements. The individual will be responsible for insuring expenditures are complaint with federal, state and university guidelines.
Additionally, this individual will provide logistical support for the Center including facilitating large scale conferences and symposia as well as day-to-day needs. This role is a point of contact for patients, laboratories, clinic staff and vendors.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented; proficient with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; possess strong interpersonal skills; the ability to prioritize; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and the capacity to work independently and with flexibility.
This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ( CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
