Assistant Director, Instructional Technology and Media Production
The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is seeking a well-qualified Assistant Director or Instructional Technology & Media Production within the Office of Smith IT. The Assistant Director for Instructional Technology & Media Production will report directly to the Director of Smith IT. This position will provide leadership, management, and supervision for the Instructional Technology and Digital Media teams. The position will manage integrated technology services and resources that enable students, faculty, and staff to creatively and productively succeed in the College’s academic, administrative, and co-curricular goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field with 2-4 years direct management experience of a technology team or customer support/services team. 5-7 years of related professional work experience developing/ supporting Learning Management Systems and academic technology platforms. 3 years of related professional work experience producing digital medial assets such as instructional videos/tutorials. 3-5 years of related work experience in higher education industry. Experience with educational technology software platforms is required; LMS-Canvas. Other technology platforms include: video and multimedia production platforms (e.g., Panopto, Camtasia, etc.-required), student response systems (Turning Point -required), course capture systems (required), web conferencing software (e.g., Zoom, WebEx, etc.), simulation environments, adaptive learning environments, commercial software platform training, office productivity software (e.g., MS Office), and Adobe Creative suite. Prior experience producing digital media assets in a studio environment; familiar with Adobe Creative suite and digital videography best practices; Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills; strong organizational and prioritization skills; detail orientated with analytical skills. Ability to research and recommend learning solutions; ability to lead teams and empower individuals; energetic, productive, and quality oriented individual, capable of independent decision making, able to solve complex problems.
